Highlights of work experience: ? Mia has been in the music Industry for 5 years, after matriculating in 1999 Mia performed in the Sun Internationals “8 tease” show and was off to the Wild coast Sun.
? After Dark Productions requested one of her own compositions, “Just In Time”, for their submission to the VUKA awards.
? Mia’s next step was signing a recording deal with M&A records.
? EMI Music SA, licensed the album and put their full support behind Mia, so much so that before the signature was put to the agreement, Mia was invited to perform at their annual conference.
? From her pink hair to her music video “Show me, I’ll show you” and her Album “Just in Time” Mia sold over 1000 units before Christmas, this coupled with selected appearances and the support of E-TV, which insured that Mia became an overnight success.
? Mia had restricted her performances to promotional gigs and selected charity performances, which include the Presidents Children’s Day Event, The National Disabled Event and the USA/Africa educational Banquet.
? Mia Actively performs at various Charity Events & Fundraisers.
? Mia took her show on the road and performed in the Rocking Future Road show, which travelled around Gauteng and visited over 30 schools.
? One of Mia’s biggest highlights in her career was when she was invited to perform at the “Frock and Roll for Africa” concert in Barcelona organised by Naomi Campbell for the Nelson Mandela’s Children’s Fund. Mia sang a duet called “Lend a Hand” with Shaluza Max at the Olympic Stadium in Barcelona. Among other people whom Mia shared a stage with were Bono from U2, Wycleff Jean (of “Fugees” Fame), and various Top International super models (Kate Moss, Elle MacPhereson, Naomi Campbell). Other guests present at the event were Gian Franco Ferre (International Fashion Designer), Chris Blackwell (Island Records), Bernie Eckelstone (Owner of Formula one) and Harvey Goldsmith.
? Mia has performed on the main stage at a few Vodacom Beach Africa Festival’s, as one of East Coast Radio’s guest performer’s.
? Mia also performed at Jeremy Mansfield’s CD launch “Even more Raw” at the big top arena in carnival City.
? She also made an appearance at the Gay Pride Showcase, where she performed 3 songs with local act “Denim”.
? She also performed at the Mr South Africa in Durban at the Gateway.? Mia Debut CD tour – “Just in Time” to the Eastern Cape (A venture done with Roundtable) was a huge success with sold out shows in every Town. On her return Mia was invited to perform in a nationwide Road show with FNB Bank.
? Mia performed at the Miss Teen and Guy Teen of the year competition around Gauteng. And also sang at the Worldvision in aid of raising funds for the aids children in Durban.
? She performed for the “Miss Vaal “ beauty pageant and was sponsored by SAB. And she also made an appearance with a few songs and her dancers @ the Mazda Zoom Promotion Day.
? Mia’s first car to be sponsored was a new personalized Polo 1.6i from Lindsey saker Midrand. She is currently driving the new Nissan Micra sponsored by CMH Midrand.
? Mia’s 2nd EP/Album was produced and co written with Kreesan and Robin Walsh. Danger boy from 5fm remixed 3 of the tracks.
? Mia was invited to perform on the SABC lake stage at the Rand Easter Show. She performed daily as a special guest artist in the “Teen Power” show, specifically produced for the Rand Easter Show.
? She’s also performed at the Pretoria show, Miss Casa de Madeira and the Miss Italy.
? Mia performed at the OFM cycle race with Pop Idol David Fourie as well as the Miss JIP Teen and also featured in the “Sexy and the City” staged at the Showcase Theatre for 3 months. Mia was selected as number 39 in the FHM 100 sexiest woman competition 2003,
? Mia performed in Botswana for Wesbank, as well as at a Variety concert, The Bateleur Awards for SASOL.
? Mia has appeared at the MAC make-up in Sandton continuously every year to raise money for the Aids Fund, for children around the world.
? Mia has performed at the 94.7 Carols by candle light for the last 3 years in a Row.
? The main focus in 2004, was writing new material for her new “Pop/Country Album”. She performed at many corporate functions, product launches and entertainment functions.
? Mia and fellow musicians (Wess-Lee and band Zenith) held a “Pop & Rock for CHOC” concert at the end of 2004, this function was held to raise funds for “CHOC” (Child Haematology and Oncology Centre)
